What began as a motel, owned by Juanita, affectionately known as 'Nita', and her late husband George, evolved significantly over the decades. In 1979, the couple transformed the property into a fine dining restaurant, which quickly gained renown, drawing patrons from across the globe until its closure in 2000. Following the restaurant's chapter, Rainbow Hill transitioned into a collection of distinct gift shops. These shops not only offered unique goods but also provided a platform for local artisans, reflecting the owners' commitment to supporting the community. The inspiration for the name 'Rainbow Hill' itself is rooted in a natural phenomenon: the frequent appearance of double rainbows over the property.
