Featured Artist: Astrid Tuttle Opening Reception

Astrid began as a plein air painter and enjoyed the process, but about fifteen years ago she moved toward a larger, bolder and more loose approach. This more abstract depictions, starting from sketches and simplified drawings, gave her emotional freedom of color, rhythm and shapes. Her tools can be brushes, palette knives, fingers, toes, pencils, anything that can leave a mark. She employs layering to achieve texture and color and tone to follow the contour of the sky, mountains, water and pastures.
